You see, our family had our world turned upside down when we found out my precious mother in-law was diagnosed with stage three esophageal cancer. I was Very pregnant with my baby boy and I was devastated! I didn't know if Kathy would ever get to know my precious son. She has always been there for all her grand babies. She was even in the room with me and my hubby when I delivered our daughters. She was also very helpful when we brought our girls home. None of this was going to happen when I had Sam. She was having a PET scan when I delivered him. My sweet hubby had her on speaker phone so she could hear him being born. My emotions were going crazy! I was so happy I had delivered my son, safe and sound, but I was also very sad for Kathy. It was a very hard time for us. Thank goodness I have great friends and family that helped us out when I had Sam. Kathy couldn't even come to the hospital to see us. Her little immune system was so down that the Dr. would not let her come. It was such a hard time for her. All she wanted to do was hold her precious blessing. We left the hospital within 24 hours because I had a drug free birth and I recovered Very quickly. (I'll talk about that more in another post). My in-laws came over when we got home to visit Sam for the 1st time before they left for MD Anderson in Houston. She had to go though many difficult chemo and radiation treatments before her surgery in July. The Dr's didn't know if she would make it! I have never prayed so hard in my life! As a christian woman, I KNOW that GOD is the Great Physician and can perform miracles! And he did! Kathy got through her surgery and is cancer free! She is getting stronger every day! She has had a few set backs but for all that she has been through, she is doing great!
So, now you understand what a big deal this is for my sweet baby boy! I believe in miracles! I hope you do too! I snapped a few darling pics of them together. I hope you enjoy!
