My new favorite wreath for under five dollars...

I wanted some cute wreaths for my windows but didn't want to spend a fortune on them.  I found this super cute wreath on a blog I follow (www.thenester.com).  So, when I found this cute wreath, I had to try it.

All you need is:

Any size wreath (depends on what size you are wanting)  I used a medium size wreath I got from Hobby Lobby.  It was a cheap green styrofoam wreath I got for $3.00 with my 40% coupon.

Large coffee filters (white or brown)  I used white but I'm going to try the natural coffee filters next time for a different look.  I got a few boxes because I didn't know if I would have enough, but I just ended up using one box.  It was about $1.50/box at Walmart.

Ribbon (to hang wreath).  I love Hobby lobby or Michaels for my ribbon.  If it's not on sale wait and use a %40 off coupon.

Hot glue gun

I didn't really know how to get started, so I just started folding the coffee filters in thirds and started gluing.  I just started layering and layering.  It took me about an hour to finish.  I left the back side flat so the wreath would lay flat.  I just glued my ribbon on the back when I finished with the wreath. You can change out your ribbon for different holidays or just pick some really cute ribbon that will match your decor.  For under five dollars you can enjoy this wreath all year long.

Backyard garden...

Today while I was planting my tulips, my mind started going every which way thinking about what all I wanted to plant in my Summer garden.  We don't have a very big backyard, so I have be selective in what  plant.  My sweet hubby built me a really nice raised bed for my veggies.  Last year we planted; lettuce, tomato's, peppers, onions, and okra.  We had a small space to work with, so we planted veggies that I knew I would use daily.  Someday, I dream of having a huge garden on our little acreage that I hope to have someday.  My sister-in-law has a garden as big as my house on her land!  I can't wait to have that, but for now I will use the space that I have been blessed with.

I also have a great herb garden in my front yard.  I have herbs and flowers in that bed.  The bed gets great sun that is needed for my herbs.  In that garden, I have lavender, thyme, chives, basel, and mint.  I use my herbs daily for cooking.  I can't tell you how cool it is to go outside and pick fresh veggies and herbs for my family.

It's not to early to start thinking about your garden.  Write down what you want to plant and pick a space in your front or backyard that will get plenty of sun.  We get our vegetables and herbs at our local nursery in Edmond.  We also get all our flowers there too. I find that gardening is very relaxing for me.  I hope you will give it a try.  You will be blessed....

Sweet visit with Meme and Papa

We had a nice little visit with Meme and Papa last weekend.  Of course it was game day, so we were all decked out in our OU gear.  Sam had a blast showing off his new crawling skills and his 1st little tooth.  Me and Papa took the girls to the park for a bit to enjoy the beautiful fall weather.   We really enjoyed our special little day with Meme and Papa.  Here are a few pics of our day.

Enjoy...

Making baby food...

I wanted to share with you a very easy and cost effective way to make baby food for your little one's.  I started making my little man's food a few months ago when he started on solids.  I got this very cool little baby food grinder by "Munchkin" from Target for about $10-$12.  The grinder turns fruits, veggies, or meat into a healthy, natural baby food in seconds.  Simple and very cheep!  You can freeze your baby food in baby food jars or ice cube trays.  That way, if you don't have time to make it fresh, you have it in the freezer.

What you need:
fruit or veggies
simple baby food grinder
recycled baby food jars
or
ice cube trays

Sweet Family pics...

Just thought I would share my beautiful family pics.  My brother-in-law, John did an awesome job!  It was chilly and windy and the kiddo's were being stinkers.  I'm so happy he got so many good one's.  Poor Uncle John had his work cut out for him!  Check out his awesome website at http://www.jdmdesignsokc.com/.

Hope you enjoy...

Sweet love...

Last week I got the honor of taking my sweet grandparents pics at the park.  I have wanted to take them for awhile, but we never could find a good time.  Wednesday afternoon my grandpa was having a good day, so we decided to go to the park.  I was so happy I finally got to take them.  Once I started taking pics, I got a little teary eyed.  Just watching my grandparents interact with each other after all these years makes me so happy.  They have been such an amazing example for me.  These two people are the most precious people.  My grandma is the SWEETEST person you will ever meet.  She is so giving!  She will do anything for anyone.  My grandpa is the biggest teddy bear.  I can just sit and talk to him for hours.   He has had such an amazing life.   He is 95 years old!  Isn't that crazy!  He looks so good!

I love them so much!   They are such a gift to me and my family.  They have shown me what love is truly about.    I hope you enjoy these precious pictures of them.  They make me smile...

This is my favorite!  I just love their sweet faces.

Love this sweet pic of them laughing.

Gram and papaw with my crazy kiddo's.  I love that Sam and my papaw have the same baby blue eyes.

56 years together!  I love this pic so much!

 I love their sweet hands.

LOVE!

Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Like mother, like daughter...

This afternoon while Sam was taking a late afternoon nap and the girls were playing  quietly in their room, I quickly went outside in the back yard, put my feet up on a chair and started reading my new book I got from the library today.  The girls didn't notice I was outside for about fifteen minutes.  It was bliss!  I was enjoying this beautiful fall day and excited to start my new book.  I saw Aubrey peek outside, then she came back with her little book and her princess chair and parked it right next to me.  She dragged another chair to put her little feet on and started reading like mama.  It was so darling.  Sometimes I forget how much my kid's watch every little thing I do.  They see the good, the bad, and the ugly.  I need to always keep that in mind.

I love the special time I get to spend with my kids.  They are just growing up WAY to fast.  We had a fun afternoon just playing outside.  I didn't get a thing done, but I was blessed with fun times with my babies.  It was a good day.

My heart is full...
